Calvin tapped his foot against the concrete curb outside the school, clicking his teeth together as he let out an annoyed groan. Everyone else from his class had already been picked up and here he was, still waiting for a ride. "I should have known," he grumbled when he saw his sister Lily's car pull up. She rolled down her passenger side window and grinned sarcastically. "Were you supposed to get here at noon? I thought it was 1," Lily laughed as Calvin threw his bag into her back seat and got in next to her. "So technically, I'm early." "Ha ha," Calvin said, enunciating each part.
